Hi, I’m Mo!

Hello! I’m Monique Maravilla, aka Mo — a Filipino founder, coffee roaster, educator, traveler, and champion of joyful hospitality.

My journey actually started in front of the bar, as a guest and patron of my local coffee shops, where I learned to appreciate the details: the energy of a buzzing café, the flow of a well designed space, the craft and effort put in by hard working baristas, and the way a single cup of coffee can bring people together. From Los Angeles coffee shops to farms across the world, I fell in love with the magic of flavor, identity, and story all living in one sip.

After 12 years as the owner and founder of Kindness and Mischief Coffee Roasters in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, I created Studio Tigre to continue to challenge what the coffee world looks and feels like, and who gets to lead it.

Inspired by my heritage, Filipino sign-painting influences, and the symbolism of the ferocious tiger, I set out to build a brand that is boldly designed, fiercely welcoming, and rooted in community.

My mission is simple: help people feel confident, capable, and celebrated in the spaces where craft and culture meet. Welcome to Studio Tigre - I’m so glad you’re here.
