As a coffee lover (and certified caffeine enthusiast), I couldn’t pass up the chance to take the Barista Basics 101 class with Mo—and it did not disappoint! We covered everything from coffee history and extraction to milk steaming and latte basics. Mo is an incredible instructor: patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about coffee. She makes the whole experience approachable, fun, and genuinely engaging. I walked in loving coffee and walked out feeling much more confident behind an espresso machine, and with a new appreciation for the craft behind a great cup!

Spending the day learning roasting with Mo was honestly one of the most refreshing learning experiences I’ve had in coffee. From the start, her teaching style felt genuine and authentic. Roasting can be intimidating, especially when some treat it like a mysterious, untouchable craft reserved for the in-crowd. Mo does the opposite. She welcomes you into her process, breaks things down in a way that makes sense, invites questions, and encourages you to engage with every part of it without making you feel like you should already know everything. There’s a real “let’s do this together” energy. She’s also wonderfully no-nonsense. Mo teaches with clarity and intention, focusing on what actually matters while making sure you understand the why behind the what. At the same time, she leaves room for curiosity and experimentation, encouraging you to bring your full self into the craft and develop your own relationship with roasting. Even in just one day, it was clear how much she cares about sharing knowledge with the community and making coffee more accessible. You walk away not just understanding roasting better, but feeling more confident, more curious, and more connected to the craft of coffee. Honestly, Mo just made the whole experience really fun.
