This isn't a class.
There's no curriculum, no group, no one-size agenda. It's you, a roaster, and a few days of real work — cupping, profiling, troubleshooting, and learning to listen👂 to what the coffee is telling you.
What to Expect
Roasting is a
physical conversation…
You can read about it forever. But until you've stood at the drum and made a call in real time — pulled early, pushed through, adjusted airflow mid-roast — it stays abstract. These apprenticeships are designed to get you past abstract, fast.
🤲 Hands on the machine
You roast. Not watching someone else roast — you're on the machine, making the decisions, building muscle memory.
📝 Real Time Feedback
Every batch gets cupped. You taste your work, understand what the numbers told you, and make the connection between data and flavor.
🐯 Private 1:1 Training
This is one-on-one time, tailored to where you're starting from. No cohort to keep pace with. Just your questions, your pace, your coffee.

Three ways to begin
4-Day Private Apprenticeship
$3,500
My most recommended path for someone who wants to build something real. We roast, cup, and work through the phases of roasting theory over four days — by the end you're not just understanding the process, you're starting to feel it.
2-Day Private Apprenticeship
$1,850
Two focused days spaced a week apart, giving you time to absorb before we build on what we covered. You'll leave the first session with enough to chew on — and come back sharper for it. A deliberate pace for a deliberate learner.
1-Day Private Apprenticeship
$1,000
A single deep-dive day to get your hands on the machine and start building your roasting foundation. A powerful entry point if you want to know what it feels like before going deeper — or if you're ready to commit to one intense session and see where it takes you.

Common Questions
-
No. These apprenticeships are designed for people at the beginning of something — whether that's a career shift, a new coffee program, or just deep curiosity about what's actually happening in the roaster. Come as you are.
-
At the Studio Tigre roastery in Los Angeles. Details are shared once you reserve your spot.
-
You'll roast on the same machine we use for production. Real equipment, real coffee, real stakes — which is exactly the point.
-
The 2-Day is intentionally spaced a week apart. The gap matters — you process, rest on it, and show up to day two with sharper questions. It's part of how the program works.
